Christmas Greetings

Here is my musical Christmas card. For many years when living in Lancashire we used to join the annual pilgrimage to King George’s Hall, Blackburn, to hear the Blackburn Choral Society sing Handel’s “Messiah”. Tonight I found this extract from a performance in Winchester Cathedral and hope you enjoy it as it points beyond the tinsel to the heart of CHRISTmas.

Having first started ‘Around-England’ in 2008 but being repeatedly interrupted by long-term ill-health it has been a joy to be able to build the site more consistently during 2011 especially since our move back north from Nottinghamshire to the Eden Valley, close to the Lake District, in the early Spring.

Visits to the site have greatly increased, supplemented by frequent tweets on Twitter which are now received by approaching 2,500 people. It has been good to be in person-to-person contact with quite a number.

Once again, a Happy Christmas to you all.
